Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 12, 2026

Six Pockets is built to be private by design. The short version: the app collects nothing about you and sends nothing anywhere. The longer version is below, in plain language.

No data collection

The app does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to any server. There is no account to create and no analytics or tracking of any kind.

Local storage only

The documents and images you add are stored in the app's private storage on your device. They are never uploaded, synced, or backed up to any cloud or server by us.

Backups you create

If you choose Settings → Export pockets, the app creates a single backup file of your pockets on your device. The file is encrypted on your phone (AES-256) with a password you choose, and saved to your phone's Downloads folder. What you do with it next — keep it on your phone, move it to cloud storage, or email it to yourself — is up to you.

  • We never receive the backup file or your password. Your password is not stored anywhere, not even in the app.
  • Because of this, a forgotten backup password cannot be recovered — by anyone, including us.
  • Import pockets reads a backup file you pick and restores it into the app's private storage. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Sharing documents

When you share pockets, only the files you select are sent — through Android's standard share sheet, to the app you choose (for example WhatsApp or email). The app makes temporary copies with readable file names for this and removes them later. Once shared, the receiving app's privacy practices apply to those copies.

Permissions and why we ask

  • Photos / media & document picker — only to let you choose files to add to your pockets. Selected files are copied into the app's private storage; nothing else on your device is accessed.
  • Camera (if used) — only to capture a photo that you choose to add to a pocket.
  • Biometrics — used only on-device to unlock the app, and to confirm it's you before exporting or importing a backup. Biometric data is handled entirely by Android and is never seen, collected, or stored by the app.

Saving a backup to Downloads uses Android's standard media storage and needs no extra storage permission on Android 10 and later.

No sharing

Nothing is shared with third parties. There are no advertising networks, no data brokers, and no external services involved.

This website (analytics)

The privacy commitments above apply to the Six Pockets app. This website (sixpockets.app) uses Google Analytics to understand basic, aggregated traffic — such as page views and general location — so we can improve the site. This applies only to your visit to the website; the app itself still collects nothing and has no analytics. You can block analytics with your browser settings or an ad/tracker blocker.

Data deletion

You are always in control of your data. Removing a pocket deletes that file from the app. Uninstalling the app removes all of its data from your device.

Backup files you exported are not part of the app's data, so uninstalling does not delete them. To remove a backup, delete the file from your Downloads folder (and from anywhere else you copied it, such as cloud storage or email).

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
